The family announces with sorrow his passing on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 85 years. Loving husband of Réjeanne Blanchette (nee Leduc). Dear father of Daniel Blanchette (Maria), Victor Blanchette (Carole), Colette Levesque-Norquay (Matthew) and Louise Blanchette. Loving grandfather of Francine, Christine, Josée (Pierre-Luc), Janel, Brigitte (Kevin), Derick (Carolyn), Stephane (Danielle), Mathieu (Giulia). Dear brother of Lise Caron, François “Frenchy” Blanchette (Gisèle) and Gisèle Morel (Jacques). Armand will be missed dearly by his dog Teddy and his longtime best friends Henri and Sylvia Drouin. Predeceased by his parents Henri and Yvonne Blanchette and his brother Léopold “Paul” Blanchette. Armand worked in the forest industry and started a lumber company with his brother Paul and father Henri. He also worked as a miner for over 35 years and was recognized as a strong and hard worker by his peers. Armand enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping at Star Lake. He was an avid darts, bowling, poker and horseshoe player. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a tough man that got things done the right way, his way.
