D’Hulster, Ronald “Ron” Cyril (May 7, 1946 – May 12, 2024) –
Ron has drawn his last breath. It is with both sorrow and admiration we must witness and accept the passing of Ronald Cyril D’Hulster. He had the strength to fight the debilitating effects of COPD for many years and a reluctant, yet greater strength to let go. He was the best friend and steadfast husband to Patricia (Roduck) for 55+ years. Ron was the supportive and loving father of his sons, Philip and Andrew (Kim). A generous and genuine man, Ron was grandpa to two lovely granddaughters, Kate and Megan D’Hulster. He was the loved brother of Mary Lou Francoeur (late Mike) and Greg D’Hulster (Anita), brother-in-law to Renee Roduck Robbins (Dan) and the late Michael Roduck, Uncle Ron to several nieces and nephews. Born in Simcoe on May 7th, 1946, and raised in Langton, he was the son of the late Simone (nee Gesquiere) D’Hulster and Raymond D’Hulster. Son-in-law to the late June Chandler Roduck and Howard Roduck. He reached his 78th birthday 5 days before his death. Ron was a dedicated employee of TDS Livingston’s for 44 years, his entire working life. His idea of paradise was Long Point Bay, his love of fishing cemented early in life. His other paradise was being home, caring for his home and sharing food with family and friends. Ron was a forgiving, humble man of few words but his brain was sharp until the very end.
With much gratitude, we thank the care of Dr. Sohla, Care Partners and the Palliative Care Outreach Team. With big hearts and loving hands, they made the journey manageable and respectful.
In keeping with Ron’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. Public visitation will be held on Friday, May 17th, 2024, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the Maurice J.
