DeVriendt, Paul Frederick (March 8, 1966 – April 18, 2024) –
It is with heavy hearts that, we, the family of Paul Frederick DeVriendt, announce his unexpected passing due to natural causes, on April 18, 2024, at the age of 58. Paul is dearly missed by his loving wife, Jacqueline Cooper, of Toronto. He is lovingly remembered by his father Fred DeVriendt (late wife Nancy Bergman DeVriendt), his brother Chris DeVriendt, Chris’ wife Marina Mourtzakis DeVriendt and their children Noah and Nathan; by his uncle Peter DeVriendt (late wife Mercia). Paul is lovingly remembered by his nephews Nathan and Noah for his magic tricks!
Paul was born and raised in Tillsonburg. Paul earned a Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto. He was a dedicated employee for 20 years with Nexj Systems (the leading provider of Intelligent Customer Management software for financial services), where his title was Senior Vice President- Products. Paul enjoyed curling (a member of Leaside Curling Club, Toronto); tennis (a member of Wanless Tennis Club, Toronto); he was also a sports fan of the NFL’s New England Patriots, basketball and baseball. At Annandale High School, Paul was on various sports teams such as football (quarterback), volleyball and basketball. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed word games, crossword puzzles, playing piano, and gourmet cooking. Paul loved attending the opera, music concerts, great restaurants and theater productions.
A private family viewing and Memorial Service to celebrate Paul’s life was held in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, Tillsonburg. The interment was followed in Tillsonburg Cemetery. Everyone who knew Paul is invited to share special memories, photos, personal condolences.
