The family of Mary Alice Scott (Cornish) is saddened to announce her passing on April 26, 2024, in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband Melvin Scott (1989) her son Robert (Bob) Scott (2023). Her parents Ken and Marion Cornish, stepfather Bill Goodhand, her brother and sister-in-law Ben and Shirley Cornish.
She is survived by her daughter in law, Marie Scott, Woodstock Ontario and her two grandsons: Chris Scott and their children Ty & Cooper, and their mother Alta, of Woodstock Ontario and Craig & Christina Scott and their children Mia & Ava, of Cambridge Ontario.
Mary is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mary was born in Tillsonburg Ontario, she and Melvin married and resided in Ostrander, where she lived in the same home for seventy years, before moving to Harvest Crossing in Tillsonburg.
Mary enjoyed her home and spent many hours in her yard and gardens during the spring, summer and fall months. In the winter she was baking cookies or knitting. She knitted numerous baby outfits, and winter hats for everyone. She also knitted many baby hats that were donated to various hospitals for newborn babies. Mary was always so easy going and enjoyed a conversation that would generate a good laugh.
In lieu of flowers or donations reach out to a family member or friend with a good thought and a smile.
Arrangements are with Ostrander’s Funeral Home, Tillsonburg. A private family service will be held in the future.
