JOHN ANTHONY PRITOULA
John Anthony Pritoula, an example of love and dedication to his family, passed away on October 2, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on July 11, 1943, John’s life was a testament to the values of hard work, continuous learning, and family.
John’s life was spent in the embrace of a loving family. He was a cherished husband to Karen (Nee Rogers) for 59 years and a guiding light to his sons, Todd (Meghan) Pritoula and Trevor (Megan) Pritoula. Proud grandfather to Madison, MiKayla, Braydon, Kenzie and Easton. Brother to Olga O’Hanley and Marion McMeeken. The family circle extended to include his brothers-in-law, Doug (Maria) Rogers and David (Cheryl) Rogers as well as many nieces and nephews all of whom will remember John with fondness and respect.
John is predeceased by his parents John and Anne, brother Daniel and sisters-in-law Diane Beausoleil and Susan Howald.
John became a teacher with the Peel District School Board. He taught at Brampton Centennial Sr school and later at Caledon PS. He obtained his degrees from Wilfred Laurier University and obtained many specialist certificates in Phys Ed, Guidance and Computers.
Professionally, John was a Teacher but also served as an elected member of council for nine years in Erin.
In retirement, John and Karen traveled extensively in Canada and the US in their mobile home. They moved to Hickory Hills in Tillsonburg in 1998 and became involved in a very active social life. They later purchased a home in Arizona and wintered there until John’s health began to decline.
The family would like to thank Dr. Abdalla and the nurses on 2 North 2 South and 1 South for all their care and attention given to John and Karen over the last few months. Their kindness will always be appreciated.
Cremation has taken place and at this time there will be no visitation or service. Family and friends are welcomed to offer support to the Pritoula family by placing a favourite memory or condolence at www.ostrandersfuneralhome.
