EHRLICH, Horst Otto (March 27, 1938- November 1, 2023)
The family sadly announces the passing of a much-loved father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and sister-in-law and uncle on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, Retired Police Detective Horst Otto Ehrlich a resident of Eleanor Court, Tillsonburg in his 86th year. Born in Bad Homburg, Germany, son of the late Emil Ehrlich and the late Lisabeth (Pohl) Ehrlich.
Horst (or Roy as he was nicknamed by his fellow officers) served honourably with the Metropolitan Toronto Police Association for 25 years and retired as a Detective in April of 1991 (Badge # 1535).
Predeceased by his first wife of 43 years Ingrid (Mennemann) Ehrlich (February 27, 2003). Horst and Ingrid’s love of camping and exploring nature, led them to lifetime full of adventure and enjoyment with each other’s company.
Horst was proud and loving father to sons Brian Ehrlich of Tillsonburg, Kirk Ehrlich (Heather), Bath, England, U.K., and their two daughters: Kirsten Hambly (Jonathan), and Taylor. Horst was brother and sister-in-law to Horst and Edith Mennemann of Delmenhorst, Germany and uncle to Dagmar and Volker. Horst was predeceased by a sister Erna Kerstan (Germany) and uncle to Petra, Michael and Angelika. Horst was previously married to Sharon (Robinson) and remained good friends.
In keeping with Horst’s expressed wishes cremation has taken place.
