FISHER, Daniel “Dan” Roy (1945 – 2023)
Daniel (Dan) Roy Fisher, 78, of Tillsonburg, Ontario passed away peacefully in the early hours of November 28, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family.
Dan was born on October 19th, 1945 (It was a very good year) and was chosen by Irv and Carrie Fisher. He was raised in Wardsville, Ontario with two dogs, three sheep, a pony, a goat, and a deer. He also spent time with numerous cousins.
As an adult, Dan worked in Quality Control at the Talbotville Ford plant for more than 30 years.
Like all of us, Dan had many ups and downs through life, but he also regularly shared how grateful he was for the constants in his life: his many friends, some more recent, some dating back to his boating days, his golfing buddies – playing hundreds of courses, from Ontario to Nova Scotia to Punta Cana, his friends from his ten years as a Rotarian, his friends from Avondale United Church in Tillsonburg, and others he held dear and enjoyed many adventures with.
Those who knew Dan well, know that he’s been a bit of a miracle for the last few years, fighting hard against all odds with a strong will to survive and an even stronger will to enjoy life to the fullest.
Dan and (wife) Rosalie would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to his many doctors, nurses, The Livingston Centre, and CarePartners, as well as the team at Sakura House.
Destined for Heaven, Dan leaves behind his loving wife of 12 years, Rosalie Willaert, his son, Ryan Fisher, and his daughter, Julie Fisher, her husband, Paul Girard, and his grandchildren, Owen and Daisy Girard, India Coran, and Holt and Will Gray.
While he loved to be surrounded by family and friends – always planning his next outing, Dan wished for a private service with immediate family only.
