KRAFTCHECK: Laurie Francis Joseph – passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 28, 2023 at Jessica’s House Hospice, Exeter. Laurie Kraftcheck of Exeter in his 77th year.
Beloved husband of Susan (nee Weicker) Kraftcheck whom he married June 26, 1971. Dear father of Dr. Erin Kraftcheck & husband Will Wong of Oakville, Brendan Kraftcheck of London and Nathan Edward Kraftcheck of Exeter. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Jaden, Lauren and Madison. He is survived by his brother Dr. Daniel & wife Patricia Kraftcheck of Hamilton, his mother-in-law Doris Weicker of New Hamburg, sisters-in-law Marion Shantz of Plattsville, Laurel & Wilf Thyssen of Fergus and Tracy Sheard of Plattsville.
Predeceased by his parents Denny & Dorothy (Lendzioszek) Kraftcheck, son Nathan Mitchell Kraftcheck (1978) and father-in-law Howard Weicker.
Laurie was an educator for the Huron-Perth Catholic District School board for 45 years. He was a great promoter of the Sciences and the Canada-Wide Youth Science Fair. He was a volunteer with Scouts Canada for 34 years. Laurie was also an avid living history reenactor for the past 20 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Celebration of Laurie’s life at the Detweiler Meeting House, 3445 Roseville Rd. Ayr, ON on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 2:00pm. Inurnment in the Roseville Mennonite Cemetery will follow the service.
