William Newbury Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of William Robert James Newbury wish to inform you of his passing on November 30, 2024, at the age of 82.
William was a devoted family man and a skilled craftsman. He worked for many years as a sheet metal worker and was a member of Local 269, until he retired. He enjoyed many things throughout his years, his love for vintage cars, tinkering with old relics in the workshop, and socializing with many friends and neighbours. He loved telling stories, causing laughter and providing entertainment. He was known for his amusing sense of humour, joke-telling and his kind heart. He was most happy when he was surrounded by his family at the cottage.
Born to George Newbury and Louise (Roberts) in Kingston, Ontario on February 2, 1942. William was preceded in death by his parents and brother George (Sue) Newbury.
Always remembered by his loving wife of 59 years, Pauline (Hampson), sons Jeff (Sue); and Troy (Maureen); and daughter Shelly (Chris); his cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley), Michael (Jesse), Curtis, Jessica, Ashley, Kyle, Jesse and Kirsten, as well as great-grandchildren Clinton and Cohen, and a number of nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a cornerstone of our family.
In keeping with Williams’s wishes, cremation has taken place and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Rest in peace William. May the roads you travel now be lined with the vintage cars you so deeply loved.
