Peacefully at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Wednesday July 3, 2024. Shirley, beloved wife of Denis for 55 years, was in her 80th year.
Loving mother of the late Michael, Gregory (Lorrie) and David (Christine).
Proud grandmother of Michael, Taylor (Maria), Kaitlyn (Alex), Brooke, Nicole and Madeleine.
Dear sister of Allan Maki (Hope), Sylvia Romanko (late Fred) and predeceased by Wayne, Ed (late Sylvia) and Paul (late Linda).
Shirley will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was a proud nurse, a recipient of a diamond from the Queen Mother as a nursing graduate for academic performance.
The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk’s Falls on Thursday July 11, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 89 Rain Lake Road in Kearney commencing at 11am on Friday July 12, 2024, with Father Aji Sebastian officiating.
Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
