Passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, December 8, 2023, she was in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Roderick MacKay. Cherished mother of Kim MacKay, Lori Hayward (John- predeceased) and Kelly Marshall (John Purdy). Predeceased by her son Douglas MacKay (Nancy). Proud grandmother of Adam, Tomara, Claudio (Julie), Michael (Kristen), David (Rebecca), Ryan (Spencer Jeffries), Jennifer (Richardo), Zachary (Tara), Sarah (Barry Nielson) and great-grandmother Olivia, Joseph, Cameron, Trevor, Emily, Braeden, Luke, Trinity, Skylar, Max, Elliot, Parker, Logan, Harper and Stella. Sadly missed by her siblings Peggy Sochasky (Clem-predeceased), Fred Bice (predeceased), Doug Bice (predeceased) (Marie), Phyllis MacKay (Ross- both predeceased), Janet Johnson (Graham- predeceased) and Sharon Wilhelm (Don – predeceased). Marilyn is predeceased by her parents Ralph & Edna Bice (nee Merrifield). The family will receive friends at the Opatovsky Funeral Home- Dempster Chapel on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 1 – 3 pm & 6 – 8 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kearney Community Centre on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Interment of ashes in the Knox United Cemetery in Kearney in the spring of 2024. If desired, donations to the Friends of Algonquin Park or Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
