Peacefully at home, with his family at his side on Friday April 5, 2024. Doug, beloved husband of Louise (nee Keys) for 43 years, was in his 68th year.
Loving father of Russell (Samantha), Celine (Brendan Doan), Rebecca (Alex Nastuk).
Proud grandfather of Ellie and Layla Doan, Rory and Zack Colbeck.
Doug is survived by his sister Sharon Passingham (Fred) and his Uncle Rick Bowles, predeceased by his parents Christina (nee Bowles) and Fred Colbeck as well as his brothers Larry and David Colbeck.
Doug will be remembered by his many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, their families, other extended family and friends.
Doug was always busy; he worked at Moon Basin Marina from the late 1960’s to mid 1970’s, then at the family cottage. He became a licensed Millwright in August of 1991. Doug could tell a story, laugh, and fix almost any problem, he will be greatly missed.
As Doug wished, cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel in Burk’s Falls.
