It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Silvana Commito on September 26, 2024, at the age of 87, at Spencer House LTC Home, Orillia Ontario. Silvana passed away peacefully with her daughter Anna by her side.
Silvana was born on April 19, 1937, in Vittorito, Aquila, Italy. Beloved wife of Frank Commito (pre-deceased) for over 50 years. Emigrated from Italy to Canada in 1957, Silvana resided in Onaping for most of her life before moving away in 2018. Proud mother to Tony (Patti) of Sudbury and Anna (Glen) of Barrie.
Nonna is survived by her grandchildren Michael (Chantal), Kyleigh (Sam), Catherine (Chris) and Samanatha (Brady), and her great grandchildren Zoe, Sophia, Wesley and Stella. Loving sister to Mirella Valeri (Mississauga) and Tullio DiFelice (Italy; pre-deceased).
Silvana will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy, and her longtime cherished friends and neighbours in Onaping.
Silvana was a devoted wife, mother, and Nonna and will not be forgotten for her love, kindness, and dedication to all that knew her. Silvana was well known for her seamstress skills and love of cooking that she shared with her grandkids. We will remember her fondly and will miss her dearly.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bartholomew Church, 30 Church St., Levack on Tuesday October 1, 2024, at 11am. Friends may call at the church after 10:30am Tuesday.
No Funeral Home Visitation.
Entombment in the Civic Cemetery Mausoleum.
