It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the age of 79 years.
Beloved husband of 57 years to Helene (née Coutu) Brouillette. Son of the late Joseph and late Albertine (née Giroux) Brouillette. Devoted father of Roger (Kirsti), Celine (Tim), Nicole (Guy) and Paul (Amanda). Dear brother of Marcel (Pat), Rachelle (late Cyril), Irene (Dave), late Florence, Ronald (late Phyllis), Robert (Patsy), Helene (late Dan) and Carole (Dan). Predeceased by his brother Maurice (Patsy). Cherished grandfather of Lauren, Hailley, Brody, Brooke, Zachary and Mackenzie.
Richard worked hard to provide for his family during his 35-year career at Inco as a maintenance mechanic. In his free time, he enjoyed carpentry and had a passion for antique cars. He loved sharing jokes with family and friends, always bringing a sense of joy and humour to those around him. His kindness extended not only to the people in his life but also to his dogs, whom he cared for with the same warmth and compassion he showed to everyone. He always made time for his family, whether teaching his kids to ride a bike, drive a car, or just being there to share life’s moments with them.
Honouring Richard’s wishes, there will not be a visitation. A service and celebration of life will be announced in the near future. Donations by cheque or online to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
