Nancy Gladys Foreman passed away peacefully on Sept 16, 2024 at Mindemoya Hospital, Manitoulin Island. Nancy was the daughter of Jack and Gladys Beaton (both predeceased). She was born August 16, 1940. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Douglas Foreman and her loving children, Douglas (Kim) in Staunton, Virginia, Lora-May in Clearwater, Florida, and James in Falconbridge Ontario, and her much loved grandsons Joshua, Jesse and Jacob Foreman.
Nancy was passionate about everything she set her mind to, having had such a positive influence on so many people in her work life, social life, and most of all, her loving family.
Nancy graduated with RN from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1962. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital for a few years then stayed home to raise her family. In 1974 she returned to St. Joseph’s as a supervisor to close the hospital to move to Laurentian Hospital (now HSN) as a Clinical Coordinator for 10 years. In 1984 she joined Extendicare Long Term Care Homes, first as Director of Care at Falconbridge for 12 years then as Administrator at York. She retired in 2005 to a long and happy retirement that included downhill skiing, duplicate bridge, Scrabble, and travelling around the world to name a few. Most importantly was time spent at the cottage on Lake Manitou, Manitoulin Island. Cherished memories with family and friends since 1970.
