With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Don Ignacy. He will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend Jenny Brosseau (nee Kerstens). Don was a wonderful and benevolent father to his daughters, Leah Ignacy, Callie Tonello (Eddy) and Sarah McColm (Mitch). Granddad to Barry, Tianna, Ramsey, Emily and Olivia. He will be missed by Shane Brosseau, Jessica Savoie, Evalee Brosseau, Adelyn Brosseau and Elliot Brosseau. Don was the son of Rudolf and Inge (nee Keyser) Ignacy, both predeceased. The dear brother of Krystyna (Jack Shoveller, predeceased) and Ted (Aili, nee Kiviaho) and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Don’s favourite place was the family camp on Hideaway Lake, adjacent to Penage Lake, enjoying time with friends and family. His passing will leave a huge void on the deck at camp.
Don was loved by many, including special friends Bruce and Marion Elofson.
The family would like to thank Dr Singh and the Symptom Management Team at Health Sciences North for their guidance and compassion during Don’s brief fight with cancer.
As per Don’s wishes there will be no service. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Sunday, November 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with words of remembrance at 11:00 a.m. at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, Ontario.
