It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow. The family announced the peaceful passing of Barry “Curly” O’Brien, August 16, 2024 at the age of 86 ½ years.
He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Winnifred (2003). Loving father and father-in-law of Lori (husband Greg) and Tracy (husband Alcide). Cherished grandpa of Melissa (Pete), Ryan (Samantha), Shianne (Cody) and Shaelynne and great grandpa of Sawyer, Preston, Ethan, Jayden and Penny.
He worked for the city of Sudbury for 30 years; after retiring he worked a few years in the city yard. He volunteered for the Holy Trinity Breakfast Club for many years. He was known for helping those in his community.
He enjoyed his Saturday night, pizza and beer, while listening to his old country music. He will be remembered for his remarkable and upbeat, sense of humor, which brought joy and laughter to everyone around him.
At Barry’s request there will be no public visitation or service. Donations in his memory can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation or PET Save.
