The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, Sunday December 10, 2023 at the age of 84. Son of the late Lucien and of the late Théona (née Bellefeuille). Beloved husband of Claudette (née Paquette). Loving father of Raymond (Diane), Lise Lafontaine (Shawn), Roger (Nancy), Lucie Lafontaine, and Terry. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his 9 grandchildren and 10 great-granchildren. Dear brother of Laurette Courville (late Conrad), Donald Lafortaine (late Monette), Hector (Marguerite), Jeanne D’Arc Savard (Roy), Archie (Anne), Claude, and Deloresse Halverson. Predeceased by his siblings Lionel “Tbout” (Carole), Robert, and Jeannine Skilton (late George). Marcel was a true Sturgeoner. He loved playing his music, helping people in need, always appreciated the peace and loved, and a little Labatts Blue. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Donations to Chron’s and Colitis Canada, the Alzheimer’s Society, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Époux de Claudette (née Lafontaine). Père bien aimé de Raymond (Diane), Lise Lafontaine (Shawn), Roger (Nancy), Lucie Lafontaine et Terry. Son souvenir restera gravé dans la mémoire de ses 9 petits-enfants et de ses 10 arrières-petits-enfants. Frère de Laurette Courville (feu Conrad), Donald Lafontaine (feu Monette), Hector (Marguerite), Jeanne D’Arc Savard (Roy), Archie (Anne), Claude et Doloresse Halverson. Prédécédée par ses frères et sœurs Lionel ‘’TBout‘’ (Carole), Robert et Jeannine Skilton (feu George). Marcel était un vrai Sturgeoner. Il aimait jouer sa musique, aider les gens dans le besoin, appréciait toujours la paix et l’amour, et un peu de Labatts Blue. Une célébration de vie sera annoncée à une date ultérieure.
