Marilyn Malcolm Obituary
Maybe once in your life you cross paths with someone extraordinary, someone who is fierce in strength and love and courage all in one. We were fortunate enough to have that person every day as a loving wife and mother.
With extreme sadness, we announce the passing of Marilyn Malcolm on January 30th, 2024. Marilyn was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many.
Although stubborn was often used to describe her choices and actions, she wasn’t unyielding, rather steadfast in her path, always putting one foot in front of the other because that was her way. When we were found struggling or frustrated in a situation, she would remind us that, “Not everyone is you” and to look through the situation from the shoes of others.
If Marilyn could choose where her time was being spent, it would be with her husband Ray, trekking through the forest, camping, fishing and sitting by the fire with a glass f wine. She was an avid music lover, tapping her foot to the beat and dancing the night away in Ray’s arms.
Marilyn always put her family and friends before herself, no one, not a single soul, would want for comfort while she had a say in the matter and that endeared her to all. You could depend on her. You still can. All these qualities have been passed on to her children and grandchildren, so her moral insight and strength of character will live on for a very long time.
For all of us who remain Marilyn leaves her sound advice “Do what you want. Don’t hurt anybody. If you can’t be good, at least be discrete, and if you get caught, be prepared to pay your consequences.”
You were a beacon of love and strength for us and we will love you always. Until we meet again, rest easy.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Ray, her daughters Michele, Nicole and Monique and her stepchildren Michelle, Debbie and Jeff, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
