Hermine Dueck Obituary
Passed away peacefully surrounded by members of her family at University Hospital in London, ON on Thursday, December 28, 2023 in her 86th year. Hermine was born in Pflaumheim, Germany on September 13, 1938, daughter of the late Karl and Maria (Klotz) Ostheimer. She was the beloved wife of Fritz Dueck (1994) whom she married October 3, 1959 in Stratford, ON after emigrating from Germany. Hermine was fondly remembered by family and friends for her excellent cooking and baking as well as her sewing and needlework skills.
Loving mother of Andrew (Lee) of Calgary and Tom (Laura) of London. Oma to Christopher (Kim), Anna, Katie, Andie, and Wyatt. Lovingly remembered by her extended families in Canada and Germany. Dear sister of Walfried (Elfriede) Ostheimer of Germany, and much-loved Tante to her niece Andrea Ostheimer of Switzerland and to her late-nephew Franz Rieger (2013) of Germany.
Visitation will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Hermine’s funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Live Stream available. Interment to follow at Avondale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church or a charity of one’s choice through the funeral home. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
