Charles Alexander Crerar, age 85, of Stratford, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Cedarcroft Place Retirement Residence (Stratford). Born in Stratford, son of the late Alexander and May (Barber) Crerar. Predeceased by his loving wife Barbara (Schonher) Crerar, March 31, 2014. Charles was a faithful member of Elgin Missionary Church, Stratford. He was a long-term employee of Hendrickson Manufacturing, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed travelling in retirement and working to restore his antique tractors. Loving father of Alex, Thomas (Andrea), Peter (Hyea Jin). Grandfather of Samuel, Josiah, Ocean, Joshua, Alexander Jr., and Jonah. Also survived by his sister Joyce Barber and his sister-in-law Georgia Schonher and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife Charles was predeceased by his sister and brothers-in-laws Nancy and Ronald Snay and Richard Schonher and William Barber. Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford, on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow service. Interment to take place in St. Andrews Cemetery, North Easthope. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke or Alzheimer Society through the funeral home. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
