DALE, Audrey Elaine (nee Riehl)
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 10, 2024 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of late Donald (2010). Loving mother to Janis (Ken Ashton) Dale and Peter (Joanne Pignanelli) Dale. Dear Nana to Stuart Ashton, Heather Ashton, Matthew Dale, and Eric Dale. Daughter of the late Harvey and Nelda Riehl (nee Schmidt). Daughter-in-law to late George and Margaret Dale (nee McEwen). Sister to Betty (late Wally) Fountain, late Donald (late Olive) Riehl. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Audrey was raised outside of Stratford, enjoyed her first employment as a secretary at White’s. Having married Donald Dale in 1949, living in Belleville, Aurora and settling in Guelph where they stayed for over 50 years. She loved her sports (hockey and baseball) and her garden.
A dedicated member of St. James Anglican Church in Guelph. With a love of travelling, she cherished her time in the Caribbean, visiting several islands over the years. In later years, Audrey moved to Windsor and enjoyed her time at Kensington Court. She enjoyed phone calls with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren in Regina and spending time close to her son, daughter-in-law and grandsons in Windsor.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Kensington Court, Extendicare Southwood Lakes and the care and compassion at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus.
In keeping with Audrey’s wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 1-3p.m. at the W. G. Young Funeral Home Reception Center, 430 Huron St, Stratford. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
