Obituary of Ross Laverne Alward
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden loss of our dearest Ross, who passed away tragically at the age of 65.
Predeceased by his parents Marilyn and Roy Alward and his brother Lonnie. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Erin Alward, and his children, Jeremy (Rebecca), Jennifer (Graham) and Michael (Alicia). Loving grandfather to Oliver, Sadie and Molly. A much-loved brother to Susan, Diane (John), Lynn (Scott) and Gerald and brother-in-law to Dawson (Kathy), Kevin, Shawn (Lynn) and Reagan (Christine). Ross will be dearly missed by his extended family, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Ross was born in Simcoe, Ontario but called Hamilton and Grimsby home for the past 40 years. He loved the simple things in life, enjoyed watching his beloved Maple Leafs, fishing and an ice-cold beer.
Ross met everyone with an open heart and always looked for the good in people. Ross was always someone who loved to help those in need. He gave countless hours to helping friends and family as there was always a project on the go. A mechanic by trade, Ross could fix anything and enjoyed the challenge of working with his hands to create something unique. He was all things good in life – caring, thoughtful, loyal, generous, gracious, and even a bit mischievous.
He will be missed by his loving family and always remembered in their hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations to Epilepsy Canada would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Legion in Stoney Creek.
