Obituary of David William Roddick
We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of David William Roddick, a beloved son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. With family at his side until the last moment, David left this world to join his father, John William (Bill) Roddick, by whom he is predeceased.
United in grief and sorrow are his mother, Mary Roddick; sisters Kim, Cheryl (Mark) and Heather (Roger); nieces Brittney Richard (Andrew); Chloe Langton and Abigail Langton (Derrick) and nephew Ryan Richard (Meagan).
David was a kind, caring, patient soul and a man of great faith. He had a passion for learning and possessed an enviable knowledge about every imaginable subject. We will never forget our countless fascinating conversations with David, his smart, wry humour, warm smile that lit up the room, and laugh that we will dearly miss. David was an avid reader, writer of poems, crossword and Sudoku puzzle whiz, devoted caregiver, proud Hamiltonian and die-hard TiCats fan. He also gave the best hugs.
The world is a lesser place without our David, and we will miss him more than words can say. David, we love you and you will live forever in our hearts, thoughts, memories and souls.
The family wishes to thank the outstanding team at Juravinski Hospital, who provided exceptional care for David and went above and beyond for our family during this heartbreaking time.
A service will be held at White Chapel Cemetery on Friday June 28 at 2:00 p.m.
