Obituary of Cecelia Kowalyshyn
Peacefully, after a short illness. Cecelia, loving mother of Wayne (Georgina) and Shawn (Malini). Beloved grandmother of Douglas, Amelia, and Sierra. Dearest great-grandmother to William, Julia, Sofia, Tyler and Angelica. Loving sister to Joyce Cieplak (Ted). Predeceased by husband Peter, and sisters Stella, Verna, and Phyllis.
Cecelia was an avid sports fan with an affection for the Blue Jays, and Ti-Cats. She recently found a new passion in watching the sport of Tennis. Cecelia was also one of the last original Mahoney Park moms. She was a passionate gardener and was famous for her glorious front yard and back rock garden. She would spend countless hours knitting winter hats to donate to less fortunate children. Cecelia was known for many years as the clerk at Gilbert ‘s Variety Store and Valdi Discount Foods.
Friends may attend the Funeral in the chapel at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Monday, June 24, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please follow Cecelia’s passion for gardening and plant a “Flower for Cecelia ” in your own garden in her memory.
