Died peacefully on Wednesday November 15, 2023 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood at the age of 74. Vern of New Lowell, beloved husband of the late Heather (nee Watson) 2021 for over 50 years. Loving father of Julie (Steve Scott) and Deb (Randy Lamers). Cherished grandfather of the late Troy Scott, Kristen Scott, Lauren Lamers and Eryn Lamers. Dear brother of Fred (Susan) Prosser and nephew of Anne Hanna. Vern will also be missed by his cousins, neighbours and many friends. Vern was an outgoing man who enjoyed a good chat and a few laughs. He loved his family, his farm, his beer and his Johnny Walker scotch. He will be deeply missed. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel on Monday November 20, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. for memorial visitation. Private interment Stayner Union Cemetery. If desired, a donation to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by Vern’s family.
