Obituary of Theodore Greschuk
GRESCHUK, Theodore ~ Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, July 14th at Millennium Trail Manor, Captain Ted (Theodore) in his 90th year, born at Brokenhead, MB, beloved husband of the late Arlene Mary. Beloved father of Glen (April), Leonard, Valerie (Tim) and Margaret (Gary). Cherished grandpa of Keith, Cameron, Matt (Vero), Jonathan, Alannah, Ashley (Cameron), and Cassandra. Loving great grandfather of Jaxon, Ashton and Easton. Dearly loved and cherished by his sisters Jean Jensen and Angela Bodnarchuk, and many nieces and nephews and extended family Ron and Carole Anderson. Ted is predeceased by his parents Peter and Stella, brother Adolph (Ed) and sister Frances.
Ted was a retired Pilot for the Great Lakes Seaway Authority. This was his life’s work that he loved for 46 years. Ted loved his entire family dearly and was very proud of his heritage from Tyndall, Manitoba where he grew up and loved to visit when he could. Each winter, his hobby was to hand craft and build to model scale, a Seaway Canal Ship. Summers included fresh Niagara fruit and vegetables, steam engine fairs, driving anywhere his car took him, painting anything he could and lapping up the sun in his yard at home.
Many thanks to the kind and dedicated staff at Millennium Trail Manor for their compassion and care. In keeping with Ted’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Friday, July 19, 2024 from 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, 316 Queenston Street, St. Catharines. A Catholic Funeral Mass will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines. Arrangements are entrusted to George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, ON. Donations and expression of sympathy may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, St. Catharines.
