Oswald: Marianne Elizabeth (nee Brown)
With sadness, the family of Marianne Oswald (nee Brown) announce her peaceful passing, with family at her side, in her 93rd year. She was preceded in death by Paul (2015), her husband of 65 years. She is survived by her children, Wendy (John Tiffin), Ken (Bev Smith), Ron, and Linda (Brad Lowartz) and her brother Jerry (Pat) Brown. She will be missed by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Marianne was born in Fort Erie to Ross and Maisie Brown. She was a daddy’s girl and always spoke lovingly of her father. She met the love of her life young and married Paul at the age of 17. She marked their 75th wedding anniversary on April 2nd. Paul’s work with Canada Customs, took them to St. Catharines, London, and Hamilton as they raised their family. They spent many happy winter vacations together in Myrtle Beach.
Marianne enjoyed being a homemaker and was known for keeping an immaculate house. While she was a quiet and private person, we think she would be ok with us telling you that she loved yellow roses, cats, the color purple, Tim Horton’s coffee, and observing nature. Marianne lived independently at Heidelberg Village until recently.
The family would like to thank the staff at Upper Canada Lodge for all the care given to Marianne over the past months. Honouring Marianne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family internment will be held at a later date.
