Obituary of Barbara Jean Traynor
Traynor, Barbara Jean Selina
Barbara Jean Selina Traynor left this world on September 10, 2024 to be with the love of her life – Robbie. Barbara was born in
Ireland in 1936 before emigrating to Canada with her husband and four children in 1968. As a teacher for over 30-years at Holy Rosary School in Milton, she brought kindness, intelligence, and a quick wit to her classroom.
In addition to spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Barbara was a voracious reader – often reading three or four novels at a time – one in almost every room in the house. Barbara was a kind and generous soul. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and warm personality.
She is survived by her children, Lauri (Kathryn), Oscar, Mark (Christine), and Kerry (Gordon), seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Monday September, 16 between 5:30 – 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 169 St. Paul Cres., St. Catharines at 11 am on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada in memory of Barbara Traynor.
Ar dheis Dé go Raibh a hAnam (May her soul rest at God’s right hand.)
