Peacefully, on his own terms, on March 6, 2024 in his 91st year.
Survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Shirley M Pettit, his daughter Brenda Seymour and her husband George and by his son Greg Pettit and his wife Karen Neals. Much loved “Papa” to Daniel and Joseph Seymour. Also survived by his sister, Bernice Coyle and a very large extended family.
Predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters, and 10 nephews and nieces.
In keeping with Howard’s wishes, a private family Interment will take place at the Southampton Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family would like express immense appreciation for the nursing staff and Doctors at the Southampton Hospital, Dr Higgins, Dr Bock. A special thanks to Krista Schwass (VON) for making Howard’s last hours with us so comfortable. Heartfelt thanks to Rev. Carrie Irwin (St Paul’s Anglican Church) for her spiritual guidance throughout this journey and her presence with the family at Howard’s passing.
Donations in Howard’s memory to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
