Root, Gregg, a.k.a ‘Hammer’, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the age of 44 years. Loving father to Braxton Cameron and Maylee Hutter-Root. Dear son of Karen Brenda Stevens and the late Stuart Clayton Stevens. Remembered by Braxton’s mom Dolly and Maylee’s mom Mandy.
Sadly missed by his siblings, Melanie Besito, Jamie Lee Root, and Craig Leland Crawford Root (deceased). Half brother to Ciandra, Honey, Sonia, Tricia, Vicki, Zero, Darrel, William, the late Sarah, and Stuart William Stevens (deceased). Uncle to many nieces and nephews
Also survived by his adopted family, mother the late Mabel Root, father the late Crawford Root. Brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Ritchie (deceased), Dennis Root (deceased), Roger Wesley, Ronald (Janet) Root, Marilyn Root, Leon (Charlene) Root, Theresa (Edwin) Root, David (Ellen) Root, and Renita Nawash. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from Saugeen First Nation, Shawanaga First Nation, and Kitchener.
Gregg was known best for his smile, his laugh, and his big hug that warmed the heart and healed the spirit. He was a protector. Baamaapii
As per Gregg’s wishes there will be no funeral services held. Cremation will take place.
