George Craib Wilson
November 10, 1946 – December 18, 2024
With broken hearts we announce the passing of George Wilson at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. He surrendered after a hard-fought battle with his longtime friend Genie and devoted daughter Brooke by his side. We are all eternally grateful to the team in the ICU and stepdown units at St. Joseph’s, with particular gratitude to Dr. Azim Gangji, George’s nephrologist over the years, he was a doctor, friend and our superhero. George was an avid sports fan, loving father, loyal friend, but most of all an enthusiastic grandfather. He raved about his grandsons and even more than his son’s amazing end on the lawn bowling green, which was something he truly treasured. He will be truly missed by Genie, his kids Greg, Brooke (Attila), Blake (Svetlana) and grandsons Caleb, Ewan and Nick as well as family and friends he left behind. Details regarding a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Merritt Funeral Home, Smithville.
