Obituary of Marie Victoria McRae
Passed away peacefully at Lanark Lodge on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in her 98th year. Marie is predeceased by her beloved husband Alexander McRae. Loving mother of Catherine (Bruce) Scott, Karen (Ed) Nagle, Nancy (Stephen) Popek, Malcolm (Donna) McRae and Cynthia Barr (Steve Walford-Davis). Marie was a proud grandmother to her 19 grandchildren, and a loving great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She will be fondly remembered by her daughters-in-law Doris Preece and Michelle McRae. Marie will be sadly missed by Christel (Paul) Pryce as well as her many nieces and nephews, and friends. She is also predeceased by her children Jim, Ron and Bob McRae, Sharon Marshall, Beth McRae, her brothers Jack (Claudia) Coleman and Wilfred Virgin, her daughter-in-law Edna McRae, her niece Adrienne Coleman, her son-in-law Jeff Barr and her grandson Tommy Barr. Friends may pay their respects at Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will take place in the Chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Smiths Falls Food Bank or the charity of your choice.
