Obituary of Deanna Mary Wynne White
On May 23, 2024, Deanna Mary Wynne White (nee Thompson) passed away peacefully in the loving company of close family members. Wynne is survived by three of four children, Scott Stuart White, Thane Thompson White and Britt Alexis Watson (nee White), six grandchildren Arthur Amys White, Jesse Jay White, Edii Rose Mason, Alix Angelina White, Tarek Thompson Watson and Kira Ambika Watson, her sister Elizabeth Aileen Sturges (nee Thompson), brother Thomas Malcolm Thompson and god-child Mary Catherine Aileen “Cathy” Buffam.
Wynne is predeceased by her dear daughter Alix Karina White and parents Bertha Elizabeth Thompson (nee Dunn) and Thomas Blair Thompson. Wynne will be deeply missed by her family and all those that loved her and were fortunate enough to enter her orbit.
Wynne worked to advance women’s issues throughout her life and supported young girls in their educational advancement. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Interval House, one of the organizations she volunteered with.
A celebration of life will be held between 2:00 and 7:00 pm at 2011 Elm Grove Road on Saturday August 24, 2024 (the date of Wynne’s 85th birthday). An informal ceremony will start at 3:00 pm and a potlatch/corn boil at 5:00. BYOC (bring your own chair) and BYOB as we continue to share stories and toast our dear mother, sister, Oma, teacher and friend.
