Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Jeffery Charles Elon Sinclair, entered the gates of heaven on May 23, 2024, after a brief hospitalization at Centenary Hospital. Despite Jeffery’s valiant fight with illness, he lived an extraordinary life of 43 years which we celebrate with thanksgiving.
Jeffery was born on September 29, 1980, to Elon Tobyia Sinclair and Isolyn Victoria (Smith) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was the last of three children and the beloved baby brother to Antoinette (Sinclair) and Nicole Sinclair (Anderson). In 2010, Jeffery met and fell in love with Nicole Bridgette Greaves and they married on October 28, 2011. In 2023 they welcomed their precious daughter Eliana Evelyn Sinclair. Jeffery and Nicole established their home in Scarborough, Ontario where they raised their daughter.
Jeffery’s Christian upbringing at the 48 Fisher Street First Seventh-Day Baptist Church, established his vigorous pursuit of truth and was instrumental in establishing the faith that would remain with him until his dying breath. Jeffery was determined that everyone he met would come to know the gospel. Throughout his life, Jeffery would lead multiple bible studies which left a lasting impact on many. He was committed to his faith community and ensured that those who did not know the saving grace of Jesus would encounter Him.
Jeffery worked as a City Planner for more than 18 years with the City of Toronto, Planning Department. He was a valued, respected and much loved colleague. He was deeply committed to his work and wanted to leave a lasting impact on the city that he loved. His contributions, diligent attention to detail and wonderful sense of humour made him a well loved colleague on “Team Scarborough”.
Jeffery is survived by his wife Nicole, daughter Eliana; his parents Elon and Isolyn, his sisters Antoinette and Nicole and their families Jeremy (brother-in-law) Ayden, Jamyle, Justin, Joel (nephews); Nash and Aunty Norma Anderson (and Nash) and their children; Jerome, Khadeja, Kayla (and Osheah).
A celebration of life will be held at Malvern Christian Assembly located at 6705 Sheppard Ave. Scarborough, Ontario on June 7, 2024, at 11:00am. As Jeffery prioritized equipping young men for theological leadership, if you feel so moved, donations can be provided to the Jane and Finch Ministry (also known as Jane & Finch Missional Community).
