Obituary of Edward William Reaume
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved husband, Edward W. Reaume, at the age of 90. Born in Chatham, Ed was the son of Lorne and Marie (Bondy) Reaume.
He was a devoted husband to Beverley (Flanagan) for 70 wonderful years and a loving father to Kelly Kemp (Steve), Shelly Mullaly (Tom), Scott Reaume (Lumi), and Bev Reaume.
Ed is survived by his sister, Linda Lou Ions (Dennis). He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert Reaume (Sharon) and Allan Reaume (Marion).
Our father cherished the laughter and love of his seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
He will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Ed’s career began as a milkman at Glover’s City Dairy and Riviera Men’s Wear. He later became the owner of the Hat Trick Shell gas station. After years of success, he continued his work at Daymond Aluminum until his retirement.
Known for his strong work ethic, Ed instilled a sense of personal responsibility and the same work ethic in all his children. He was also a dedicated member of St. Agnes Church.
Ed will be resting at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, June 18th from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 19th at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Donations have been entrusted to McKinlay Funeral Home and may be made by cash or cheque in Ed’s memory to the Victorian Order of Nurses. Online condolences may be left at www.mckinlayfuneralhome.com
