Obituary of Audrey McPhail
McPHAIL: Audrey –
A resident of Ridgetown and formerly of Highgate, Audrey McPhail passed away peacefully at the Village on the Ridge on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the age of 77.
Audrey was the youngest daughter of the late Stanley W. and Marion (Smith) McPhail.
She is predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Cove, Donna Gosnell and brother-in-law Ted Gosnell.
Audrey is survived by her sister Marlene Trees (late Jim) of Bellevue WA.
Also survived by nephews Brian Cove (Marilou), Brady Cove (Blanche) and niece Cheryl Van Der Aa (Marcel). She will be missed by her special cousin Cheryl Pickford.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Village on the Ridge for the excellent care they provided during Audrey’s stay and especially in her final days. Thank you to her friend Nancy Clark who always helped Audrey whenever needed. A heartfelt thank you to Joyce Smith, her lifelong friend, for her frequent visits and providing continual support. A big thank you to Dave Rankin, her cousin and caregiver, who was always there to help Audrey every step of the way during her journey.
Respecting Audrey’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at Gosnell Cemetery, Highgate at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Audrey to the Four Counties Health Services Foundation, the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 335, Highgate or the Mary Webb Centre would be appreciated.
