ROWAN, Martin “Sandy” Patrick
September 21, 1936 – May 20, 2024
Sandy passed away peacefully in the afternoon of Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital at the age of 87. Husband of the late Therese (Hanniman). Loving father of Patrick (Elizabeth), Gerard (Bonnie), Francis (Lori) and Thomas (Margaret Ann). He will be remembered by his grandchildren Darren (Lindsey), William (Tiffany), Josh (Mackenzie Brumm), Brittany (Dan O’Grady), Jordan, Victoria, Brianna (Robert Inglis), Joseph, Jeremy (Layla Miller) and his great grandchildren Mason, Griffin, Tucker, Cooper, Briar and Warren.
Sandy was survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Angela (Earl Martin).
Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Veronica (Kennelly) Rowan and his brother and sister-in-laws Anna (Frank Decareau), Josephine (Alfred Blimkie), Mary (Clifford Harding), John (Georgina Hanniman), Greg (Lena Hanniman), Bill (Irene Hanniman) and Jospeh (Agatha Hanniman).
He is also predeceased by a great family friend William Lucy.
Sandy’s final care has been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew where visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Douglas on Saturday morning at 11:00am. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
