LUIMES, Albert
November 7, 1954 – June 18, 2024
Albert Luimes, in his 70th year, was called to his heavenly home on June 18th, 2024 at the Renfrew Hospice. After a 2 year battle with ALS, he looked forward to the day he would be in heavenly glory.
Albert was born to Gerrit and Hendrika in Williamsburg, Ontario. He was raised knowing the Lord and he lived out his faith.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Carolyn of 48 years, and children Tim (Crystal), Jonathon (Janet), Matthew (Lori), and Annalisa (Brent). He will lovingly be remembered by his grandchildren Cynthia, Landon, Mikaela, Joshua, Greta, Matthew, Eleanor, Benjamin, Ruth, Violet, Leo, Max and Nate. He will also be missed by his siblings Hank (Jane), Wilma (Al), John (Jeannie), sister-in-law Joyce, sister-in-law Bonnie,Tom (Greta), and Ed (Stephanie),as well as a large extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his beloved brother Jack, brother Bill, and infant sister Anna.
Albert began his career as a mechanic and later pursued teaching at the Champlain, Fellowes, Madawaska Valley, and Arnprior High Schools. He will be remembered for his love of teaching automotive technologies, and coaching football. His retirement was spent sharing cottage life with friends and family, boating, and volunteering on various disaster response projects with World Renew and Samaritans Purse, accompanied by his wife. He enjoyed his winters in Fort Myers playing hockey, and moving furniture for the Ministry of Helps.
Friends and family are welcome to share in his Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Visitation will be held at the Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew from 9:30am until 11:00am A graveside service will take place at Rosebank Cemetery at 11:45am. Friends and family are welcome to share fellowship and refreshments at a luncheon held at the Hebron Christian Reform Church, 431 Albert Street, Renfrew.
