Ervin’s Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father & grandfather, Ervin Biedler at the age of 91, who left us peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Ervin was born on March 2, 1933 on the family farm in Steinbach MB to his parents Ludwig & Matilda Biedler. He was the youngest of 11 children. He grew up on the farm, and at the age of 16 he decided to branch out & move to BC to work at Fraser Mills sawmill in Coquitlam. This is also where he met the love of his life, Selma Wonnick. They married in 1957. Along came their 6 children between 1958 & 1972. He decided Ontario was where he wanted to settle, & they made their way north to Red Lake in 1959 where they remain to this day.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Selma, his children Cindy (Bob), Butch (Janice), Connie (Hugh), Owen, Lori & Karen (Lee), grandchildren Colin, Erin, Robyn, Craig, Ashley, Janine, Hugh Jr, Alexis, Madison, Megan, Makenzie & Nicole, and 15 great grandchildren, and by numerous nieces & nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Audrey Drager. He was predeceased by his mother, father, & 9 siblings.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Northwood Lodge & Red Lake Hospital for the exceptional & loving care provided to Dad & our family.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. A public viewing will begin at 11:30 am. A private family interment will follow at the Red Lake Cemetery.
