It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Louise King. Angela passed away suddenly at her home in Port Hope, Ontario on Wednesday March 27th at the age of 58. She was a proud grandmother to her beloved grandson Callum Smith. Angela will be missed immensely by her daughters Krysten King (Jeffery) and Natalie King (Cole). She will forever be missed by her niece Taylor Fairman, her mother Lynne Mercer and her nephew Dylan Fairman. Sadly, Angela was predeceased by her father Clayton Mercer (2021), her younger sister Victoria Fairman (2013) and her grandmother Meri Gore (2006). Angela will be missed by many community members whose lives she touched throughout the years.
Angela was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario, she later moved to Pickering but spent most of her adult life in Port Hope. Angela was a nature lover and fondly remembered spending her summers at her grandmothers cottage in Bancroft and later her own trailer at Duck Lake. Her family and friends will remember her as a funny, loving and brave individual who fought many battles in her adult life. Angela fiercely underwent a double lung-transplant surgery in early 2023. She found great joy in rescuing cats and was heartbroken from the recent passing of her cats Myttin (2023), Kola (2023) and Ferguson (2024).
Angela will forever be remembered by those she leaves behind for her sense of humour and profound love of animals. She will be deeply missed and forever remain in the hearts of people who knew her.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
