Frank Vrbanac Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank Vrbanac on December 28, 2024 at his home in Port Colborne. After a hard-fought battle with cancer, Frank passed peacefully surrounded by his favourite things: family, friends, and music.
Frank was a devoted husband of 25 years to the love of his life, Jennifer (nee Jacques), and a proud, loving father to Jenna (Ryan) and Sydney. Cherished by his mother Katica and adored by his siblings, Bill (Robyn) and Irene (Mark); Frank was predeceased by his father Zvonko (2000). He will be fondly remembered by his in-laws Leo and Debbie Jacques, Rhonda (John) and Michael. Uncle Frank will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews Ryan, Adam (2021), Jonathon (Kylie), Ryan, Kathryn, Lyla, Quinn, and Hadley.
Frank was a highly intelligent man with a dry wit. He was an avid ball hockey player and after retirement, enjoyed a new-found love for golf and guitars, but his true passion has always been music. With a prolific collection of albums, Frank would spend hours listening to the warm hum of his favorite tunes, often inviting his girls to join him. Armed with decades of musical knowledge, the last few years of Frank’s life were dedicated to music trivia, dominating any game he played with his partner in crime, Sandina, and his beloved SOBs.
The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to his palliative nurses Krystal and Amanda.
The Vrbanac family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 3-7 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 in the Armstrong Chapel at 11 a.m. with Father Peter Walton officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, financial contributions in memory of Frank can be made to the SickKids Foundation.
Frank, we know as long as we keep playing the music, you’ll keep dancing on your own.
