KAIRIES-Ernie of Port Colborne passed away suddenly on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the age of 67. Loving husband to Kathy-Sue, dear father of Sheila Vetrecin, Jeff (Nicole) Kairies, Sharon (Mark) Pollard, Lorelei (Scott) Parsons, Katrina (Trevor) Greenizan, dear Grandpa of Joshua, Jacob, Morgan, Sophie, Matthew, Aidan, Alexander, Jolene, Owen, Emma and Benjamin, brother of Werner (Leanne) Kairis, Renata DiLorenzo, Erwin (Angie) Kairies. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and his dog Kayla.
Ernie was taken away from us too soon. During his short life in Port Colborne, Ernie was a multi-talented trades person who specialized in bricklaying. He was a person who really enjoyed being outside, loved camping, motorcycle rides, music and going for walks. Ernie & Kathy’s families intertwined all the years of his life and developed into a loving marriage. They enjoyed a lot of adventures which included trips abroad, ballroom dancing, and camping with family and the “Trailer Trash Travellers.” He loved attending family dinners, his grandkid’s events like hockey, soccer, dance and skating. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. Cremation has taken place.
The Kairies family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence street, Port Colborne on Tuesday October 24, 2023 from 2-4 & 5-7pm. Funeral service will be held at St.J&B Anglican Church, 55 Charlotte Street, Port Colborne on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10am. Memorial donations to Mesothelioma Research, the St .J&B Anglican Church or a charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
