PLASKITT, Robert E. (Bob) January 29, 1935 – December 20, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert E. Plaskitt (Bob) announces his passing, at the age of 88 on Dec 20th. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children, Randy Kirschner (Cheryl Whitnell), Elaine Martelli, Dianne (Terry) Townsend and Wendy (John) Turney. Bob will also be forever remembered by his 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister-in-law Betty Plaskitt plus many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife Theresa (2019), his Parents, Lottie & Edmund Plaskitt, sister Jean (Bruce) Auckland and brother Jim Plaskitt. Mother & Father-in Law, Ida & Albert Chenier, Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Doris (Ken) Speakman, Cecile (Don) Heffernan, Oscar (Ted) (Lucille) Chenier. Son-in-laws, Rick Mackie and Mike Martelli.
Bob worked for 20 years as a Payroll Master at Drew Chemicals in Ajax, and then for 25 years in the maintenance department at Landsdowne Place in Peterborough. Bob was referred by many as a “True Gentleman”. He was kind hearted and was always there to lend a helping hand.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Sherbrooke Heights for all their care and support, and also to the many friends that he made during his 6 years living at Sherbrooke Heights Retirement.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arthritis Association would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date.
