SHANNON, Leo George
Peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Saturday, September 28, 2024 in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Deanna (nee Robins) for 57 years. Loving father of Gord and his wife Kate and Cindy and her partner Phil D’Orsey. Cherished grandfather of Alex, Emmett, Josie, Colleen, and Bridget. Dear brother of Pat Shannon and his wife the late Bernie and John Shannon and his wife Joyce. Leo is predeceased by his brothers and sisters Clarence and his wife Flo, Mary Doyle and her husband Bernard, Donnie and his wife Jean, Joanie Kennedy and her husband Len, and Lucy Mumby and her husband Al. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at ST. ANNE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH 859 Barnardo Ave., Peterborough on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery Douro. In memory of Leo, and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated by the family.
