Jennifer Lynn Warner (nee Trout)
February 10, 1950 – July 5th, 2024
It is with a tremendous sense of loss that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, & friend. Jennifer was taken from us before her time, after a devastating series of strokes just before her 73rd birthday that she was ultimately not able to recover from. Jennifer spent the last year of her life at Glen Hill Terrace in Whitby close to family, & we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff
that were so kind to our mum in her last days, especially Audrey, Hannah, Rosie and Alice who were always so quick to comfort & care for both her & us each day, as well as Lydia & Leesa who were with us in the end, helping to send her off with kindness & respect.
Jennifer was the oldest of the seven Trout siblings, born & raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario, before eventually settling in the Toronto area to raise her own family. She spent many years teaching youth swimming lessons, including working as the Water Safety Instructor & Swim Team Coach at Sir Oliver Mowat CI, where her own kids attended high school. Jennifer worked hard for many years to earn a double degree from the University of Toronto in Anthropology & the Classics, as well as her teaching degree from York University. She had an incredible work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit, investing many years in building a successful Amway business on top of her other endeavours. She taught many grades during her career but landed on her favourite, Kindergarten, at Cliffside PS in Toronto, before retiring to spend more time with her family. Since 2013 Jennifer enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Lynn and family, and summers in Ontario with Tracy and family. An avid reader & Euchre player, Jennifer enjoyed her clubs, her church, & her time with family.
Beloved daughter of the late Jack & Jill Trout. Loving & devoted mother to her daughters, Lynn (Robert), & Tracy (Rick). Cherished Nanny to her six grandchildren Hope (Blake), Trystan (Toria), Jordan (Steven), Faith (Austin), Regan (Connell), & Devan, as well as her 2 great-grandchildren, Juliet & Alexander. Jennifer was a loving big sister to her siblings Geoff (Marilyn), her late twin brothers Norm & Chris (Sue), Ross (Margaret), Kathy (Derrick), & Jill (Jim) & a devoted aunt to her many nieces & nephews. A special note for Suzanne who was a dear friend to our mum, especially over this last year, and a tremendous support for Tracy in terms of caregiving respite.
Jennifer’s true loves were her family & her fandoms. Animated conversations were sure to ensue around anything Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Dr. Who, or Harry Potter. A Disney family to the core, her last days before her stroke were spent running around Fort Wilderness and the Disney parks with her kids, grandkids & great-grandkids doing what she loved most. We are all so grateful for that. Our Mum was a bonus mom to so many over the years… she was very loved & will be dearly missed.
For us, she was simply our Mommy. Forever & always. Boop on the nose. Have fun Momma.
‘Til we meet again…
