January 10, 1934 – September 10, 2024
SULLIVAN, Glenn, at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on September 10, 2024.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Glenn. He died peacefully at the age of 90 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Judith (née Brackenbury), the cherished father of Jennifer, Andrea, and Joseph (Renata), and the dear brother of Kevin (Trudy) Sullivan and Brian (Carol) Sullivan. He is fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Mary (née Brackenbury) McTavish, his nieces and nephews, cousins, and adored Airedale Terrier, Ruby. Glenn was born in Toronto to Glenn and Mary (née Benson) Sullivan. He attended Regiopolis Catholic High School (Kingston) and the University of Toronto, where he earned two Masters Degrees and a Doctor of Education. Glenn loved teaching and coaching secondary students for over 30 years in the Toronto District School Board. He was a strong advocate of vocational and experiential learning and literacy programming. In retirement, he served as Chair of his local library board for several years, whose work included the construction of the present-day Bridgenorth Public Library (2009). All who knew him will fondly remember Glenn for his devotion to family and his love of animals, nature, sports (especially hockey), and antiques. The family extends a heartfelt thank you for the compassionate care provided by Dr. Lauren Morelli, PRHC staff, and Glenn’s PSWs. We are grateful for the pastoral care of Fr. Paul and Sr. Eileen.
A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.
To honour Glenn’s lifelong love of animals, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society.
