Carol Beamish Koeslag, beloved wife of Peter Koeslag (predeceased), exchanged time for eternity as her earthly calendar turned its final page on November 1, 2023.
Carol lived her days with expectation, interest and commitment, and is now with the loved ones who taught and encouraged her to love Jesus as her Christ, parents Quinn (Johnston) and Gordon Beamish.
She knew her history would continue in her beloved sons George (Line), David (Nancy), Stephen (Deborah) and Roderick (Sue) Thwaites, and her grandchildren: Maxime, Sebastien, Matt, Jayden,
Derrick, Shelby, Jenelle, Trevor, and their respective spouses. She was predeceased by grandsons Michael and Bryan. Great-grandmother of Zachary, Charlotte, Jett, Andi, Avery and Adrian. Carol was
predeceased by her sisters Barbara and Jocelyn. Loved by her nieces and extended family.
Carol was born and raised in St Catharines. She married and settled in Whitby, raising a family and being actively involved in a variety of community groups and services. She would further her post-secondary education and be employed by organizations that served the people of Durham Region.
She and her husband Peter relocated to Peterborough in 1991, making it their home as they both became very involved in their adopted city. Carol’s volunteer interests included service with the
Hutchison House Museum, the Peterborough Historical Society, St John’s Anglican Church and many other groups. She served for some years as a teacher’s assistant at Immaculate Conception School. She
had a variety of interests ranging from golf, writing, politics and genealogy but it was her family, friends and community that were her focus.
Over her lifetime Carol travelled extensively in Canada and other countries.
Believing that life was a God given adventure she lived it fully, supported by many friends and God’s great blessings.
The funeral service will be at St. John’s Anglican Church in Peterborough beginning at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023. Visitation will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Private interment will be at Little Lake Cemetery, Peterborough.
