Annette Dairou Obituary
On the evening of Dec 29th, Annette Dairou passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough at the age of 80. Although Annette spent much of her adult life in Ontario, she always called Cape Breton Home.
She worked for many years as a Health Care Aide in Allendale Long term Care facility, followed by a long career in the Central Sterilization department at Milton District Hospital.
Upon retirement, Annette moved to Peterborough Ontario where she enjoyed cheering on her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, being an avid reader and taking excellent care of her 17-year old dog Maggie. Annette was loved and appreciated by the community of people who lived in her apartment building.
Annette is survived by her son Al Dairou (Angie), daughter Lisa Wiens (Tim), grandson Konnor, sisters Joan Therrien (Bert) and Alice Ford, brother Wayne Landry and predeceased by her brother Donnie Landry, and brother Gerard Landry.
In keeping with Annette’s request, there will be no funeral. Donations may be made to Hospice Peterborough or your local hospice. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Peterborough Regional Health Centre Palliative Care unit and Hospice Peterborough for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
In keeping with Annette’s request, there will be no funeral. However, we as a family will be forever grateful to have spent Annette’s last days with her at Hospice Peterborough. Everyone (both patients and their families) deserves to be treated with privacy, dignity and compassion by professionals who honour the end-of-life process. Donations may be made to Hospice Peterborough, or your local Hospice facility.
