It is with a heavy heart that I announce Mom’s passing in the early morning hours of Friday, October 18, 2024.
She was a woman of deep devotion and love to her family and friends. Mom was born and raised in Pembroke; she was the second youngest of seven children. Winifred is predeceased by her first husband, Herbert Lindeman, (1950), as well, predeceased by her second husband Harold Kippen, (1981), and she is predeceased by her oldest child, John David Lindeman Kippen, (1970).
Winifred is survived by her son Kelly and his partner LaVonne, she also has three grandchildren; Colin, Chelsea, and Laura. Winifred is also survived by her younger sister Arden Miller.
For many years, Winifred worked as an Executive Assistant in the Federal Government. She was also one of the last surviving and founding members of All Saints Lutheran Church, Ottawa. Mom was a woman of extraordinarily strong faith and conviction. She had the wonderful ability to easily connect and speak to people she came into contact with. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Her family would like to express thanks to the Caregvers and Staff at the Redwoods Retirement Home. They made her final years much safer and more comfortable.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue, (at Byron Ave.), Ottawa on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 11:00 am – 1:00pm. Service in the Chapel at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow.
Interment in Zion-St.Timothy Cemetery, Boundary Road, Pembroke on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 11:00 am.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County would be appreciated.
